Srinagar, Feb 18 : Curfew-like restrictions, imposed in the downtown and Shehar-e-Khas (SeK) in Srinagar on Saturday following separatist strike call, have been lifted. The strike was called against shifting of detenues to outside the valley jails and killing of a senior Hurriyat Conference (HC) leader by unidentified gunmen in Budgam recently. There is no restriction in any part of the city, police said on Saturday. Restrictions under Section 144 CrPC had been imposed in the areas falling under the jurisdiction of M R Gunj, Nowhatta, Rainawari, Safa Kadal and Khanyar in the downtown and SeK from Saturday morning as a precautionary measure to prevent any law and order problem. Similar restrictions were imposed in some areas under the police station of Kralkhud in the old city and Maisuma in civil lines.
