Basti, Feb 20 : Three people were killed and 18 others injured when a pickup van rammed into a road-side tree in Sohna area of this district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday morning. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rakesh Chand said here that 41 people of Bikauli Dargah Village in Shravasti district were returning after attending a marriage ceremony at Nagva village of Gorakhpur district when their vehicle dashed into a tree. Tabrez (15) and Waseem (16) died on the spot, while 19 others were injured, Mr Chand said. The injured were rushed to district hospital where Akbar Ali (45) succumbed to his injuries during treatment. ”They had made two compartments in the pickup vehicle,” the DSP said.
