SRINAGAR, FEB 20 : Residents of Salamabad Dachina village of district Baramulla is facing scarcity of drinking water since a year.

They said that despite much representation to the concern department, nothing has been done so far.  They said that the water shortage has created health problems in the locality as they are forced to drink unfiltered water.

Residents said that not a single tap in the area has water. Adding that all the taps are running dry.  They said that the area comes under BMC ward no 5 but the officials seem least bothered about the problem faced by the population.

“The water pipes are running dry. Nobody has looked into this matter from a very long time”, they said. Residents demand that the water supply must be restored as soon as possible adding that a proper step must be taken in order to maintain a consistent water supply in the area. (PTK)
