Agartala, June 7 :President Ram Nath Kovind accompanied by his wife Savita Kovind arrived here this morning on a two-day Tripura visit by special flight of Indian Air Force.
He was received by Governor Tathagata Roy, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and a few other cabinet members and top officials of the administration in the airport. The president was accorded guard of honour by Tripura police and there after he flown to Udaipur by air force chopper.
The President will interact with the school children at Rajarsshi Kalakshetra of Udaipur where he will address the gathering and open double lane national highway between Udaipur and Sabroom and to lay foundation stone for re-development of Matabari temple complex and offer prayers to Mata Tripureswari.
In the evening, he will address the civic reception hosted by the state government and declare Queen variety of pineapple as state fruit of Tripura at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan. Kovind will stay back at Raj Bhawan and tomorrow he will fly for New Delhi.
Before leaving the state, the President will unveil a book of Tripura governor in the Raj Bhawan and will have breakfast with the Chief Justice and other judges of the High Court of Tripura.
