Srinagar: The water level is continuously increasing in River Jhelum and other water bodies of the valley due to incessant rains, reports said on Friday.

As per reports quoting Chief Engineer  Department Mir Muhammad Shahnawaz, The Liddar Nallah, Vishow Nallah including the Sangam in south Kashmir have crossed the danger level.

“After crossing the line of 21, we are declaring the flood alert. The way it is raining it seems the level will further rise and cross the danger line of 21,” reports quoting Mir said.

“We have already deputed the staff on ground. They are continuously monitoring the water levels at different places,” Mir reportedly said.

Meanwhile, the gauge reading of the Jhelum River has been consistently rising since today morning. (Agencies)
