Srinagar: Thousands of people including women and children Saturday participated in the last rites of slain militant Sajad Ahmad at his ancestral village Gund Chogal Handwara in north Kashmir.

Sajad was killed during a gunfight with government forces in Pulwama on Friday.

The dead body of Sajad was shifted to police station Chogal past night and police handedover the body to the family this morning for last rites.

Soon after the body reached his home, people in thousands from the area were present who raised pro-militant and anti-India slogans.

Later they took the body to nearby Jinaza Gah and offered his funeral prayers attended by a large number of people despite bad weather.(Agencies)
