Srinagar: Authorities on Saturday imposed Curfew in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district a day ahead of the second anniversary of popular militant commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani.

Local sources told Kashmir Reader that curfew was imposed early in morning and it was announced on public address systems.

Heavy deployment of government forces has been made in the town and adjoining areas to implement the curfew, they said adding all entry and exit points leading to the town have been sealed by government forces.

Resistance leaders have called for a shutdown on Sunday on eve of the second death anniversary of Burhan.

Hizb commander, Burhan, a resident of Tral, was killed by government forces in Bumdoora village of Kokernag in Anantnag district on July 8, 2016.

A massive uprising was triggered by the killing of Burhan resulting in the killing of more than one hundred civilians in forces actions.(Agencies)
