Srinagar: Mobile internet service continue to remain suspended for the third consecutive day across south Kashmir, where three people, including a girl were shot dead by army on Friday.

Locals told Kashmir Reader over phone that the various cellular companies, including the state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) have not restored mobile internet services across south Kashmir that were suspendedย after 3 civilians, including a teenage girl were shot dead by army in Hawura area of Kulgam during a cordon and search operation on Friday last.

The internet clampdown, the locals said, was aimed to prevent dissemination of information over Fridayโ€™s civilian killings.

Meanwhile, internet service was restored after two days in north and Central Kashmir, including the summer capital Srinagar on Sunday night.(Agencies)
