SRINAGAR: Clashes between youth and government erupted during forces operation at Harmain village of south Kashmir’s Shopian on Monday.
Police sources said that army of 34 RR along with SOG of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched cordon and search operation (CASO) in Harmain village after inputs about the presence of militants.
Soon after the cordon, youth hit the streets and pelted stones on forces who retaliated with tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters, witnesses said.
The cordon was still underway so were the clashes, they added.(Agencies)
