Srinagar, August 1: Hundreds of people attended funeral of a militant, whose body was exhumed and handed over to the family on Tuesday night, a month after he was killed by army in an encounter in Kupwara district.

Hundreds of people, including men, women and children hit the streets in old Barzulla when body of Mudasir Ahmad Bhat was brought from Jumgund forests of Kupwara around 9:30 Tuesday, witnesses told Local Media today. Chanting pro-freedom slogans, the mourners carried Bhat’s body in a procession to his ancestral graveyard.

Earlier, scores of people attended his funeral prayers.

On Tuesday, Bhat’s body was exhumed from NK Gali in the frontier Kupwara district he was buried after being killing by army on June 29.  (Agencies)
