SRINAGARA: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Range Muneer Khan on Tuesday said that investigation would continue into the use of a civilian as a “human shield” by an army officer during Srinagar by-poll.

Khan who was touring northern parts of Kashmir, he said that the investigation will carry on and the FIR has not been quashed against the army major.

The remark comes a day after the accused army major was given a commendation card by the army chief Bipin Rawat.

Meanwhile when asked about the number of active militants in north Kashmir, Khan said that there are 90 militants active in the area who will be tackled.
