BUDGAM: Shortage of drinking water triggers protest in Nowshad colony Darambugh of Chadoora sub-division of central Budgam district on Thursday.

Protesters blocked Chadoora-Srinagar road to demand drinking water. The protesters were raising anti-government and anti-PHE slogans, alleging that the PHE Division Chadoora allotted the work of providing water supply to the area in January this year but the work hasn’t been started yet.

They said that they are craving for drinking water. “The department has even failed to provide drinking water through tanker service in the area,” said a protester.

Officials told that the work will be started soon as the shortage of pipelines in the division has hampered the work.
