Srinagar 20 Sep : Pak Prime Minister Imran Khan has written a letter to his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, and sought a resumption of dialogue between the two countries, media reports said on Thursday.
According to reports, PM Imran in his letter has called for a meeting between Indian Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York scheduled later this month.
โIndia and Pakistan should look at resolving all major outstanding issues, including Kashmir, through dialogue,โ reports quoting Imranโs letter to Modi said.
Imranโs letter is believed to have been written in response to the Indian premierโs call for a โmeaningful and constructiveโ engagement between the two countries.
Earlier in July, Modi had telephoned Imran and congratulated him over his victory in the polls. During the telephonic conversation, Modi had expressed hope that democracy will take deeper roots in Pakistan and reiterated his vision of peace and development in the region.
