Srinagar May 28: A day after lifting the ban on social media, authorities have barred the mobile data and outgoing calls from pre paid mobiles in order to minimize the reach of news. However, sources  told  that it was done to contain rumours mills that “vitiate the atmosphere”. Government had imposed ban on social media sites for a month that expired on Friday. It was not extended but with yesterday’s killing on Sabzar it has again come in force. A few hundred broadband connections provided by government run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) are working but the speed has been reduced.
