Partial shutdown in Sopore against militant killings

Sopore 26 Sep:  A shutdown is being observed in parts of this north Kashmir township against the killing of two militants in a gunfight with government forces on Tuesday.

Shops, commercial establishments in Zaingeer, Harwan and Bomai are closed to mourn the killing of Lashkar militant Abdul Majid Dar and his associate in a gunfight in Tujjar area on Tuesday, witnesses told Media.

All educational institutions are also closed across the town to maintain ‘law and order’. Internet service too remained suspended for third running day.

In Bomai, heavy deployment of government forces has been made to meet any possible protest and to restrict movement of people who want to visit Harwan to attend funeral prayers of slain militant Abdul Majeed Mir.

Two militants were killed by government forces in an encounter in Tujar area of north Kashmir’s apple town.
