Srinagar 27 nov: Train services on Srinagar-Banihal route was suspended on Tuesday for security reasons following gunfights between militants and government forces in south Kashmir.

A railway official said they received an advisory from police to suspend the train service on Srinagar- Banihal route due to apprehensions of law and order in south Kashmir.

However, the official said the train will chug normally on the Srinagar-Baramulla track.

Pertinently, two gunfights between militants and government forces are underway in Redwani area of Kulgam and Hafoo area of Tral in south Kashmir.

On Monday train service remained suspended due to strike called by Joint Resistence Leadership against the killings in Kashmir.
