Srinagar: Thousands of people on Thursday attended the funeral prayers of slain Sopore militant in northern Kashmir’ Baramulla district, who was killed along with top Lashkar commander Naveed Jatt in Budgam’s Chattergam area on Wednesday.

The funeral prayers of slain Mehraj-ud-din Khan were held at Iqbal Market Sopore.

Mehraj, according to police was an Over Ground Worker who was arrested in October this year and later gave slip and escaped for Police Station and formally joined militant ranks.

Reports said that people from various adjoining villages of Sopore converged at the slain’s ancestral home and raised massive pro-freedom and pro-Pakistan slogans.
