Srinagar: The Joint Resistance Leadership have called for a protest shutdown in the areas going for polls in 9th phase of the ongoing Panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement, the JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik have asked the people living in Natnussa, Drugmulla, Magam, Banakoot, Tujjar Sharief, Hardaboora, Tangmarg, Wakura, Chadoora, Pakherpora, Kakapora, Awantipora, Zainpora, Kulgam, and Pahalgam to observe shutdown during the 9th phase of “sham panchayat elections” thrust on them by the “authoritarian” state .
JRL asked People to demonstrate their total rejection and disregard of this “futile exercise” by staying away and boycotting it completely.
