Srinagar, Dec 28  Security forces on Friday morning launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in north Kashmir district of Bandipora, official sources said.

They said troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint search operation this morning at Chinar Mohalla, Bandipora following a tip off about the presence of militants.

All the exit points were sealed and house-to-house search operation was launched, they said, adding that operation was going on when the reports last came in.

Details are awaited, they said, adding clashes between demonstrators and security forces were also reported in the area.
