Srinagar, Jan 10 : Peoples Conference chairman and former minister Sajad Gani Lone on Thursday visited the fire victims whose shops were gutted recently in a mid-night fire in Handwara town.
As per Kashmir News Service (KNS) correspondent, Lone said that rupees twenty thousand to each one of the fire victims was the best possible help that could be extended from the party and the issue of compensation has been also taken up with the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Khalid Jehangir who, he said the issue will be taken with the chief secretary.
Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara Gulzar Ahmad Bhat has announced rupees 7000 to each one of the fire victims as compensation from the state red cross. (KNS)
