SRINAGAR: Deputy Speaker Legislative Assembly, Nazir Ahmed Gurezi, today convened a meeting with the officers of Revenue Department, JAKEDA, Environment and NHPC to review the rehabilitation of families affected due to construction of Kishenganga Hydro Electric Project (KGHEP) in Gurez.

During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Plan and the Deputy Speaker directed the concerned to ensure implementation of all components mentioned in the plan in letter and spirit.

The Deputy Speaker also directed the concerned authority to formulate a plan to provide smart class facilities to Government High School Wanpora as early as possible.

Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Sajad Hussain, Chief Engineer NHPC, Khalid Umar, General Manager NHPC, Amlesh Kumar and Chief Executive Officer JAKEDA Science and Technology Department, Dr. P R Dhar briefed the meeting about the developmental activities being carried out by them besides the measures and steps taken to provide basic amenities to the affected families.

The meeting also discussed other developmental issues of Gurez including upgradation of tourism, health, education and power. He also asked the concerned to redouble their efforts and complete all ongoing developmental projects in a time bound manner.

Among others, Senior Officers of concerned departments of District Administration and NHPC were also present in the meeting.
