Srinagar, Mar 23 : Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone on Saturday said that though renouncing violence in 1990 was tantamount to suicide for JKLF Chairman Yaseen Malik but for taking great risk Yasin Malikโ€™s JKLF is now banned and it shows space is shrinking for peaceful dissent.
Taking to micro blogging social networking site twitter Sajad Lone wrote โ€œfrom underground to overground. Was part of those arrested in a raid in Barzulla to arrest Yasin Malik in 1990. JKLF renounced violence in 90s. It was tantamount to suicide. At great risk Yasin Malik took that decision. And now stands banned. Shrinking space for peaceful dissent.โ€ (KNS)
