Srinagar, Feb 17, : Scores of people from North Kashmir’s Pattan village staged a massive protest against the non-availability of drinking water.

   The protesters from Hanjiveers village of Pattan on Srinagar-Baramulla road and resorted to massive sloganeering against Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department. They said their village is immensely suffering due to scarcity of water. “Nobody addresses our problem though we raised the issue with concerned department repeatedly. The concerned official whom we approached so for did nothing to allay our sufferings,” the protesters told Kashmir News Trust.

   The protesters blocked the traffic for hours forcing civil and police administration to rush to the spot. Tehsildar Singhpora, Dr Nisar Ahmed assured protesters of redressal of their problem after which people dispersed peacefully. (KNT)
