Ganderbal, Apr 15: Zojila and Sonamrag areas witnessed fresh snowfall on Wednesday.
An official told KNT that Zojila received seven inches of fresh snowfall, while Sonamarag got five inches of snowfall. “Snow has already been cleared from the road at Sonamarag market and the process is on to clear the snow from the Srinagar Leh highway,” he added.
The official of the Border roads Organization said that if weather permits the snow clearance process would soon touch the zero point at KM-108 of Srinagar-leh highway to facilitate the re-opening of the highway for vehicles carrying essential supplies.
Pertinently, a couple of days Srinagar-Leh highway was thrown open for vehicles carrying essential supplies. Over 12 Oil Tanker had crossed the Zojila and reached Leh with fuel. (KNT)
