GANDERBAL, MAY 27: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, who is also chairman of E-auction Committee, Geology and Mining Department, today, chaired a meeting of E-auction Committee convened to discuss various aspects of auctioning of mineral deposits available in the district and E-auction process.
On the occasion, the committee members put forward their valuable suggestions with regard to the excavation of minerals without affecting the working of respective departments.
The meeting was attended by all Committee Members, which include SE (PWD) R&B Ganderbal, Executive Engineer I&FC division Ganderbal, District Treasury Officer, Ganderbal, Sr. Drilling Engineer Geology and Mining Department, Srinagar and District Mineral Officer, Ganderbal.
Meanwhile, the DC stressed for scientific and sustainable extraction of minerals without damaging ecology and aquatic life in these areas besides developmental works of several departments. He instructed officers the general public at large should not be affected due to the extraction of minerals.
While discussing the mining plan for extraction of minerals, the committee decided that extraction should be strictly done manually without use of any excavators.
