SRINAGAR: Train services resumed in the Kashmir valley today after remaining suspended for security reasons yesterday when separatists had called for march to the ‘United Nations Military Observers Office in Srinagar in protest against alleged Human Rights (HR) violations by the security forces.
‘We have resumed all trains services between Srinagar-Budgam-in central Kashmir to Baramulla in north Kashmir today,’ a Railway official said.
He said similarly train will chug on Budgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir and Banihal in Jammu region, he said.
The official said the train runs were suspended as a precautionary measure yesterday following advisory by the police keeping in view the safety of passengers and railway property.
‘We will have to restore the railway service after receiving a signal from the police and administration,’ he said.  (UNI)
