Srinagar, August 08 : Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Kupwara on Saturday distanced itself from statement of its activist Javed Qureshi and said party will take tough action against his repeated breach of protocol in coming days.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), BJP district president Kupwara Mohammad Shafi clarified that whatever Javed Qureshi is disseminating is “anti-Kashmir” and “anti-BJP”.

“I want to make it clear that Qureshi is neither a district president nor spokesperson of the party”, he said.

“I along with other party associates better knows how people of J&K will get benefited. Using rhetoric over some issues will defame BJP in J&K. What Qureshi is saying, party has nothing to do with that”, Shafi said.

Qureshi who joined BJP few months ago after divorcing militancy, has repeatedly breaching protocol, party alleges.

“We had called a meeting today and directed him to attend but he dropped a message and said I am going to New Delhi for meeting higher ups of the party”, Shafi told KNS.

BJP District Kupwara strongly condemned his anti-Kashmir stand and clarified that Executive Body of the party will meet in a day or two to deliberate upon Qureshi’s arbitrary outlook. (KNS)
