SRINAGAR: Senior leader of ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and MP Muzaffar Hussain Baig today appealed to hardline Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani to ask militants to shun violence as it was unIslamic.
“I appeal to Geelani to ask the militant to shun violence as it is against the fundamental principles of Islam,” Mr Baig said while addressing party workers at 18th Foundation Day celebration of PDP at S K cricket stadium here.
Referring to the arrest of seven separatists leaders by National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with ‘terror funding’ in the state, he said the people who are involved in such activities should be brought to the book.
However, he said those separatist leaders, who are innocent and have not playing any role in burning schools and getting innocents killed, would not be persecuted.   (UNI)
