Kupwara: Several residential houses in villages along Line of Control in Tanghdar sector have developed cracks in the aftermath earthquake, a top police official said.

Senior Superintendent of Police Shriram Ambarkar Dinkar told GNS that his office has received reports about several residential houses in the villages including Hajinar, Prada, Taad, Kandi to have developed cracks in the fallout of earthquake.

“We are ascertaining the damaged caused by the earthquake in other parts of the district as well and details will be shared accordingly”, the top-police official said.

Pertinent to mention here that an earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale occurred on Friday night in Jammu and Kashmir, triggering panic among the people who rushed outside their homes and made frantic calls to their loved ones to enquire about their well-being.

Meanwhile, no loss of life or injury has been reported anywhere till this report is being filed. (GNS)
