Lahore: Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit has said that Pakistan is ready for talks with India on every issue and that the two countries should build an amicable atmosphere for their coming generations.

He also called for a dialogue to resolve the issue of Jammu and Kashmir

Basit made the remarks during an interview in New Delhi, Radio Pakistan reported.

“Negative elements in Pakistan and India do not want the talks between two countries to go ahead. It is very significant that both nations should come to table and resolve all the outstanding issues,” Basit was quoted as saying in the report.

Basit said Pakistan is itself a victim of terrorism and cannot allow its soil to be used for terrorism.

He said Pakistan has implemented National Action Plan to eradicate terrorism and the people across the globe have appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in this regard.

He said that Pakistan and India are in touch with each other, however India has to come forward for a proper dialogue.

“The issue of Jammu and Kashmir will be resolved through talks, not with arms,” he said.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner said it is a human right issue for the people of Kashmir and no one can take it away.
