Jammu: A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) was killed in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.

A defence spokesperson late last night said that Naib Subedar S Sanayaima Kom was killed in an IED blast along the LoC in Poonch district.

He, however, did not give details as to how the blast took place along the LoC and whether the IED was planted by cross-border militants.

The JCO was a native of Manipur and is survived by his wife and three children, he said.

“Further details will follow,” the spokesman said.
