Srinagar: Amid worries of flood in the Kashmir Valley due to fresh snow and rainfall, Tulip garden, which was thrown open for public this week is in full bloom and open for tourists.

As per Director Floriculture, Kashmir, M.H.Mir, Tulip flowers are in excellent condition and the garden has suffered upto 10 percent loss in respect of double flower variety which is negligible.

According to KNS, Mir said that a wrong message is in circulation that all Tulip flowers in Tulip garden Srinagar have been damaged because of unexpected snowfall in Kashmir valley.

“I have visited Tulip garden this morning at 10 am today 6th April and have found all Tulip flowers in excellent condition. Loss is only upto 10 percent in respect of double flower variety which is negligible. Nearly 95 percent of flower crop of all 48 varieties is absolutely safe and healthy,” Mir said.

The director said that the garden is open as usual and will remain so throughout the month of April for the visitors to enjoy a splendid Tulip bloom.
