Srinagar: The devastating hailstorms left behind a trail of destruction, leveling standing crops and destroying fruits on Friday in some villages of South Kashmir’s Tral Sub division.

locals witnessed said that the hailstorm continued for at least 15 minutes leaving behind a trail of destruction in some villages by destroying Mustard crop and fruits there.

The worst affected villages were Lurgam, Nadar, Lurow, and its adjoining areas.

“Hailstorm destroyed over 90% crops of Mustard and fruits in our area ,” lamented Fidous Ahmad of Lurgam village.

Meanwhile, heavy rains were going on in the area when this report was filled in.
