‘Will leave judgment to people whether they will vote or not’

Srinagar: The Congress Sunday said it has cancelled the meetings for parliamentary elections in “honor” of the seven civilians killed in Budgam district during by-polls.

Congress state president and joint candidate of NC-Congress for Anantnag parliamentary constituency, G A Mir told KNS that the top political leaders including Ghulam Nabi Azad, Dr Farooq Abdullah were scheduled to address poll meetings in Qazigund areas.

“But I have cancelled the meeting in the honour of seven civilians killed in Budgam district during polling,” Mir told KNS

“I will leave it upto the judgement of people in South Kashmir whether they should vote or not,” he said.

Seven civilians were killed today in Budgam and dozens injured during protests and clashes in Budgam district where polling was held today for parliament constituency.
