Srinagar: Several students suffered injuries while a dozen girl students fainted after forces used massive teargas and pepper gas shelling to disperse the protesting students in Pattan area in northern part of Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.

Reports said that forces fired a huge number of tear smoke shells on protesting students of the government higher secondary school who took out a demonstration and marched up to main market.

As the protests continued, the number of the students swelled, they said and added, “the protesting students pelted stones on forces who retaliated with massive tear gas shelling resulting in the fainting of more than a dozen girl students.”

Reports said that two of the inured students have been referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment.
