 SRINAGAR: Students of Higher Secondary School in Hajin area of district Bandipora today staged a pro freedom protest besides demanding the release of the arrested youth.

The protesting students tried to take out the rally outside the school which was confronted by the security forces deployed, triggering clashes.

Students pelted stones on forces who fired tear gas shells. Many students sustain injuries during the clashes.

Meanwhile, clashes between protesting students and forces erupted in Pattan town of Baramulla district when students of government higher secondary school took out a demonstration and marched up-to main market.

Security forces charged protesting students with tear gas shelling while students pelted stones on forces resulting in chaos in the market. Reports said that several students were injured besides many girl students fainted in the police action.

In Larkipora area of Dooru Anantnag Students staged protest after some students were allegedly beaten by Army while they were on way to college. The students of Government Degree College Dooru said that they were on way to college in a mini bus and the vehicle was stopped by the 19 RR at Larkipora. They alleged that the students were separated from the passengers, later beaten by the Army men.  The protest against the army forced market to shut and vehicular movement also affected in the area.
