Srinagar, May 22: The Central Placement Cell (CPC) of the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) today organised a special lecture by CEO of Business Blogging, Mr. Kiruba Shanker for the students of the varsity at Nowgam-I academic block here.
Mr. Kiruba Shanker delivered a lecture on the theme “Brand You,” using social media to build your personal brand. Addressing students, Mr. Kiruba Shanker highlighted the significance of social media in promoting the startups in the contemporary era.
He mentioned examples of several youngsters who used social media including Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram to promote their ideas and business ventures. “Internet in general and social media in particular, has played a pivotal and huge role in the meteoric rise of certain youth in India and across the world who have now made an indelible mark in their respective fields,” he said and asked the students to use the social networking for their benefit. Mr. Kiruba Shanker also made a detailed power point presentation about the theme.
Earlier, welcoming the guest, Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Fayaz A Nikka asked the students to take full advantage of the social networking sites in order to promote their business ventures after they pass out from the varsity. He said that internet has removed all the manmade barriers and has now become a huge source of information.
