SOPORE: A complete shutdown was observed in the apple township of Sopore and adjoining areas in north Kashmir district of Baramulla to mourn the killing of two local Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants.

Reports said that life was affected due to strike in the town as traffic was also off the road. Minor stone pelting incidents were also reported from the area which was immediately dispersed by the forces.

Pertinently two militants, Aijaz Ahmed Mir of Brath Kalan  and Basharat Ahmad Sheikh of Bomai Sopore were killed in a brief gunfight with security forces in Nathipora village of Sopore yesterday.
