SRINAGAR:Restrictions have been imposed in south Kashmir district of Shopian, where a youth was killed, when security forces opened fire to disperse demonstrators trying to disrupt the anti-militancy operation.

However, officials said that restrictions under Section 144 CrPC have been imposed in some areas since early this morning as a precautionary measure to prevent any protests and maintain peace.
Meanwhile, life remained paralysed in restriction-free areas in the district due to spontaneous strike in protest against the civilian’s death.(UNI)
