Srinagar: Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology, Choudhary Lal Singh took various reformative measures to revamp the Forest Department and its allied wings.

The Forestry graduates had been demanding government to take a final call on the Rehbar-e-Janglat scheme by which forestry graduates are to be absorbed on the pattern of Rehbar-e-Taleem and Rehbar-e-Zirat.

They said that they had met CM and after comprehensive study  undertaken by CM and the concerned departments to critically analyze the impact of engagement of manpower under various “Rehbar” Schemes the government finally approved the policy for the engagement of 534 forest graduates as Rehbar-e-Janglat on 16th of June after 10 years by the continuous efforts of Lal Singh.

Meanwhile the forestry graduates expressed their pleasure over the Government’s move, saying that this would give a flip to the functioning of the Department. “We thank the Chief Minister and Forest Minster for this historical step,” they said. “Rehbar-e-Janglat scheme will definitely prove beneficial for the department.”
