NEW DELHI: Union Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today called for a strict action by state governments to prevent incidents of lynching in the name of ‘cow protection’.
The minister, while replying to a question on the recent acts and yesterday’s killing in Jharkhand, said, ‘These acts are barbaric and not accepted at all.
‘ He, however, said the Modi government cannot be blamed for these as communal incidents have been happening during Congress rule and it was the grand old party which should answer why it has not been able to bring about social integration.
Yeasterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at a function in Ahmedabad, had said, ‘I want to express my anger and anguish on the current atmosphere in the country….
