NEW DELHI: Terming the GST architecture unveiled by the Centre as ‘a multilayered GST architecture for the rich, by the rich and of the rich’, the Congress today said the new system ran contrary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promise of ‘sab ka saath, sab ka vikas”.
‘At the stroke of midnight, launch of a multilayered GST architecture is for the rich, by the rich and of the rich,’ AICC spokesperson and former Union Law Minister Kapil Sibal said in a tweet.
‘Where is “sab ka saath , sab ka vikas” Modiji ? With “paytm ka saath” how can there be “sab ka vikas” ?,’ Mr Sibal questioned.
In a series of tweets, AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh termed the GST launched by the government as ‘most complicated and badly structured’.
‘Mr Modi is describing the most complicated tax system as ‘Good and simple tax’ God save India!,’ Mr Singh tweeted.
