Bandipora : Army on Tuesday cordoned off Waza Mohalla in Ajas area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district after gunshots were heard early morning.
A police official said that Army’s 13 RR laid cordon in Waza Mohalla and was conducting searches of vehicles plying on Bandipora-Srinagar road.
He said that some gunshots were heard in the wee hours. “It could have been an accidental fire. We are ascertaining the facts,” he added.
A witness said that Army has been deployed in strength in the area and they are checking vehicles plying on Bandipora-Srinagar road near main chowk Ajas.
