SRINAGAR: Security forces today foiled an attempt by traders to “Gherao” Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, opposing implementation of Goods and Services (GST) in its present form in the state.
Under the banner of Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF), traders from different parts of the Valley, particularly Srinagar assembled outside high security Civil Secretariat area. However, when the traders tried to march towards main gate to enter nearby Legislature complex, security forces and state police personnel, deployed in strength immediately swung into action. (UNI)
