SRINAGAR: Train service was resumed today in south Kashmir after remaining suspended for four days for security reasons following the death of three militants in an encounter with security forces in Pulwama.
However, train service was resumed to north Kashmir yesterday after three days.
On July 2, the service was suspended for security reasons after the JRL had called for a general strike in protest against the killing of two civilians and two Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militants on July 1 in Anantnag.
For the past two days the services remained suspended after an encounter ensued in Pulwama which ended yesterday after all the three hold up Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants were killed.
‘We have resumed train service from Srinagar-Badgam in central Kashmir to Baramulla in north Kashmir yesterday,’ a railway official told this morning. (UNI)
