New Delhi: The Supreme Court today ordered a CBI inquiry into 62 cases of the alleged extra-judicial killings in Manipur by security forces and police.
The court passed the order after hearing several pleas filed by families of more than 1,500 victims of the killings.
CBI will have to submit the investigation compliance report before it by January 2018, the Apex Court said.
It was hearing a PIL seeking probe and compensation in alleged 1,528 extra-judicial killings in Manipur from 2000 to 2012 by security forces and police.
