SRINAGAR: Traffic resumed on the 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway, connecting Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, after disruption due to fresh landslides early this morning.
‘We have now again resumed traffic on the highway though only light vehicles were allowed from both sides,’ a traffic police official said.
He said traffic on the highway was suspended this morning following fresh landslides at Mehar, Ramban, on the highway.
However, the Border Roads Organisation( BRO), responsible for the maintenance of the highway immediately put into service sophisticated machines and men to clear the landslides.
Major portion of the landslides had been cleared and light vehicle traffic was allowed from both sides, traffic police official said. (UNI)
