SRINAGAR: A brief encounter took place between militants and security forces last night in north Kashmir district of Bandipora, official sources said.
They said a naka was established at Ajas on Srinagar-Bandipora road last evening. However, during the naka, the militants travelling in a vehicle opened fire, which was returned. The exchange of fire continued for some time.
However, no one was injured and the militants managed to escape under the cover of darkness, the sources added. (UNI)
