New Delhi:  Around 1000 Congress activists were detained by police while marching towards parliament this afternoon.
Police also used water canon to disperse Indian Youth Congress and National Students Union of India (NSUI) activists moving towards Parliament after they assembled at Jantar Mantar as their Bharat Bachao Andolan.
Senior Congress leaders Ahmed Patel, CP Joshi, Digvijay Singh, Raj Babar, Dipender Hooda among others joined the protesters.
While addressing the protesters, Mr Patel attributed his victory in Rajya Sabha poll to each and every Congress workers and expressed confidence that the BJP led NDA Government would not come to power at the Centre again.
He said two persons – one having Constitutional authority and another having extra constitutional authority – were misleading the people especially our youth who were promised two crore jobs but in reality nothing has been done. (UNI)
