SRINAGAR: Scores of people, including relatives of the newborn, assembled at Sub-district hospital (SDH) Sopore and stages a protest against the medical negligence in Baramulla district.

Raising slogans against the hospital authorities and the doctors, they were demanding action against the erring doctors.

Mehraj-ud-Din Dar of Watlab Sopore alleged that his baby died due to negligence of doctors at the SDH Sopore. “My wife gave birth to a male baby normally yesterday. Doctors told me that the baby is safe but asked me to shift him to GB Pant Hospital in Srinagar as a precautionary measure,” Dar told media.

“Doctors there told me that the baby will not live longer as he has got severe head injuries during the delivery. After some time, he breathed his last,” he added.
